Office Hours: 11 am to 3 pm

Responsibilities include complaints for high grass, trash dumping, junk cars, and managing nuisances like vacant homes and abandoned property. The Code Enforcement Officer also manages all nuisance abatements for the township.

The Code Enforcement Department is in charge of the oversight of all nuisances that are reported in the township.

These duties include complaints about:
-High Weeds-
-Junk Cars-
-Illegal Dumping-
-Vacant Homes-
-Abandoned Property-
-Other Nuisance Problems-

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for filing all nuisance orders against property owners and then organizing the removal/disposition of them. The Code Enforcement Officer works closely with the Zoning Administrator & Legal Counsel.

These tasks are very tough to solve. Jefferson Township is a "non-home" rule township. The efforts are restricted to following The Ohio Revised Code. Unlike our neighboring cities and villages, townships are "handcuffed" in terms of law in being aggressive on some cleanup efforts.
