Full-Time Firefighter (Captain) Job Description

We provide a range of services to residents, including coordinating road maintenance, cemetery management, police and fire protection, emergency medical services, solid waste disposal, and zoning.
Role Description
As a Shift Supervisor, you will command the activities of duty personnel and equipment under the direction of the Fire Chief. Your responsibilities will include responding to emergency incidents, supervising paid personnel, conducting training, and fulfilling the roles of Fire Department Quartermaster and Scheduler. You'll also play a critical part in fire suppression, EMS operations, and hazardous material responses while maintaining discipline and ensuring adherence to Township policies.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or higher.
- Certifications: State of Ohio Firefighter II, Paramedic Certification with current protocols, and Fire Safety Inspector Certification (or willingness to obtain). Instructor certification is a plus
- Experience: Five years of firefighting experience, including serving in command positions.
- Skills: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills with the ability to perform in high-pressure situations.

Part-Time Emergency Medical Technician

Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Fire Fighter, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic at Jefferson Township Montgomery County. Day-to-day tasks include responding to fire emergencies, performing rescues, performing inspections, and maintaining equipment. The role is located in the Dayton Metropolitan Area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State-certified Fire Fighter Level 1 and Level 2
- EMT or Paramedic certification
- Valid state driver's license
- Good physical fitness and swimming ability
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly
ROAD DEPARTMENT OPEN POSITIONS
