Job Opportunities

We are currently seeking dedicated professionals for the following roles:

  • Full-Time Shift Supervisor (Captain)
  • Part-Time Firefighter

  • Part-Time Paramedic


Role Description

These on-site roles involve responding to emergency incidents, providing fire suppression and rescue services, administering emergency medical care, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining equipment. The positions require individuals who can perform effectively in high-pressure situations and work collaboratively with a team.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State-certified Fire Fighter Level 1 and Level 2
  • EMT or Paramedic certification
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Good physical fitness and swimming ability
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

ROAD & PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT OPEN POSITIONS


Join Our Team!

Jefferson Township is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to serve as Road and Public Works Superintendent. This position provides leadership and supervision for the Township’s Road Department and is responsible for maintaining Township infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, parks, and cemeteries.


The Road and Public Works Superintendent is a working supervisor who plans and directs daily operations, supervises road department staff, oversees equipment and infrastructure maintenance, and coordinates snow and emergency response operations. The position works closely with the Township Administrator and Jefferson Township Board of Trustees to ensure safe and efficient public works services for the community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Road Department employees and assign daily and weekly work activities
  • Maintain Township roads, drainage systems, signage, parks, and cemeteries
  • Coordinate snow and ice removal operations
  • Oversee equipment inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance
  • Track work orders, maintenance records, and projects using the Township’s digital maintenance system
  • Inspect Township road and drainage projects and coordinate contractor work
  • Respond to resident concerns regarding infrastructure and road conditions


Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a municipal road department, county highway department, or public works environment
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or crew leader experience
  • Experience with road maintenance operations, including asphalt repair, drainage work, and snow removal
  • Experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment used in road maintenance
  • Ability to utilize digital maintenance or work order management systems
  • Valid Ohio CDL Class B with air brake endorsement
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (spray license) within twelve months
